Virtually all chronic and most acute conditions can benefit from Naturopathic Medicine. The goal in Naturopathic Medicine is to identify and treat the cause of your symptoms. At the Selkirk Naturopathic Clinic we have additional tools to identify these causes such as lab tests, live blood analysis and autonomic response testing which can be used in addition to the standard case history and case based physical examination.

Is it time that you saw a Naturopathic Doctor?

If the natural therapy or medicine that you are using helps, but the problem returns immediately upon stopping the use of that therapy or medicine than chances are you are palliating but not curing the problem. The goal is not to take treatments or natural medicines for the rest of your life but to effectively resolve the source of the problem.

For example, if someone is having headaches, the cause may be structural – the neck may be slightly out of position or have an injury, the cause may be biochemical – the person may be eating a food or chemical that they are allergic to or maybe there a deficiency of a nutrient like magnesium, the cause may be psychological – such as stress headaches, the cause may also be toxic – certain microorganisms in the body such as candida produce toxic byproducts and other exposures such as many mercury fillings or high consumption of fish and seafood can gradually build up to overwhelm the body’s detox pathways.
